Exploring the Warhammer 40K Rabbit-hole

Want to know what it felt like to join an I.P. with decades of lore all cause of a game release

A Tale as old as Time...

Nothing to special to really tell, but here it is anyways. It started like most I would believe recently, seeing the trailer of Space Marines 2. After that like many... my fate was sealed. Due to the fact that the game was I believe 1 maybe 2 months out from its release day. I started just watching preview gameplay and other content first relating to the game itself, but after a bit I started to click on other videos more lore-oriented. Not long after I started looking up the original form of this game... the tabletop and once I saw miniature painting videos. I was hook, line, and sinker.

Space Marines 2

The game itself was in my opinion PHENOMENAL! I love every second of the campaign and the PvE & PvP modes are just a blast to hop on and play with or without a friend. From what I have seen I think my opinion of this game is like many others who are enjoying the game. I will say that my favorite mode would be the PvE missions as they difficulty is very rewarding in combat with felling amazing when doing well. On top of that the customization is unreal and with more on the horizon I feel that this game will be going strong for sometime... I hope.

Battle Sector

Got this prior to Space marines 2 coming out as I wanted to scratch the itch I got after seeing the trailer and gameplay of Space Marines 2. As well, I wanted to get a small feeling for what the table-top game would be like and though I know it isn't a 1 for 1 representation. I think it was a nice entry and explainer with computer help through highlights, explanation panels, and just by playing. Overall I think this is a fun game to play when you have little time since you can start and finish a battle whenever you like.

The Expensive Section (Minis)

OH BOY, this is where I truly fell in, when it comes to the Warhammer 40K I.P. and I can't say I wouldn't recommend this enough to others who want to really dive not only into the lore but the community as well. I will say one warning though and as you can probably tell by the title... this is not cheap in the slightest. Just to confirm that, yes the lore of Warhammer 40K is badass and is amazing (though I haven't even scratched the surface).

More to Come...

Getting into the miniatures seemed almost like fate when joining the Warhammer 40K rabbit hole as it is a core part of what makes this whole I.P. amazing (as it does with others that are similar). I will say that the Warhammer store I went to, to get the materials to start my journey into building, painting, and playing was a great experience and really made me like the community more. The store owner (the only employee) was super friendly, enjoyable to talk to with all his knowledge, and even accommodating in how new I was in the fact that he offered painting lessons, how to play lessons, and even some deals to help bring down the price of all the products (though it may just be business tactics, it still felt nice). I can say that a welcoming and helpful Warhammer store definitely drove my want to dive deeper into the lore and community (even though Space Marines 2 was the catalyst).

I have a YouTube channel that I have started to post my journey of my miniatures builds and other things as well. I may not be too consistent but I will do my best. The videos on this page are the current and only videos I have made to date and sadly haven't gotten farther recently in the Ultramarine miniature I started. I hope to get back on that but will not continue further without recording to document my first "professional" attempt at making a good-looking miniature for the sake of the Warhammer 40,000 : Space Marines 2 game. Just to have it on my page the channel is called "OT Boy".
